Come See Us at Big Tent!

Good morning, Baltimore!

Big Tent 2019 kicks off next week in Baltimore, Maryland, and we are looking forward to spending time with hundreds of other Presbyterians as we come together to renew our minds and be transformed. The Special Offerings and Presbyterian Giving Catalog team will be in the exhibit space eager to speak with all those in attendance to share our work with the wider denomination. Specifically, we’ll be talking about the upcoming Peace & Global Witness Offering, taking place on World Communion Sunday (October 6). We can ensure your congregation or mid council has the appropriate resources and discuss with you the best ways to promote this offering. And, if you need ideas for how to use your retained 25% of the Offering, we have those, too!

We will also be leading two workshops designed to reignite the passion of the members of your church. Find support for your congregation’s success by attending one or both workshops, outlined below.

To Whom Does Your Church Belong?

Friday, August 2nd 10:15-11 a.m.

Connect mission and the (mostly) Sunday morning worship service by learning what congregations around the country are doing. Bryce E. Wiebe, Director of Special Offerings and Appeals, will share elements of worship, tools, and examples that will help your congregation engage in worship and service all at once!

Generous-While-Reckless-Yet-Intentional: How We Chose Open Doors Over Balanced Budget

Friday, August 2nd 2-3:30 p.m.

Hear how a small congregation went from failing to thriving! “Rev. Rose McCurdy will share how the members of First Presbyterian Church of Winneconne, Wisconsin, used their passion for mission—rooted in their Presbyterian identity—to shift from being a community “dying well,” to one providing invaluable support for the youth in their community and supporting ministry projects around the world.

Registration is still open for Big Tent, so register today!

We look forward to meeting you!
