Presbyterians leave Ash Wednesday services looking and feeling different

Presbyterians and millions of other Christians left Ash Wednesday services looking and feeling different — and it wasn’t just the ashen crosses they were sporting on their foreheads, a reminder of the dust by which they were created and the dust to which they will return.

One church, four generations

Each Saturday during March, people gathered at each of Mid-Kentucky Presbytery’s four African American congregations to hear the stories of each congregation, including its heritage and ministry.

West Louisville Presbyterian church hosts theater camp

In West Louisville, Ky., Westwood Presbyterian Church came up with a creative way to address what generations of African AmericansWest have come to believe, “that life is cheap, and the cheapest of all are black lives.” By hosting a drama camp for African American kids earlier this year, Westwood took them back to a time when African American culture was thriving.
