Vital Congregations initiative 2020 launch is underway

Nearly 140 leaders including representation from presbyteries, pastors, clerks of session and the Presbyterian Mission Agency are meeting at Montview Presbyterian Church in Denver this week to pray, plan and worship together during the West Coast Vital Congregations gathering.

New partnership agreement links PC(USA), Scouting association

During last week’s Presbyterian Mission Agency Board meeting, a new missional relationship among the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Boy Scouts of America and the National Association of Presbyterian Scouters (NAPS) was signed. The agreement continues and expands the relationship between the PC(USA) and NAPS for another century.

Vital Congregations Initiative helps one church talk about faith

One of the first Presbytery of San Jose meetings the Rev. Sammie Evans attended as the new pastor at  Stone Church of the Wooded Glen was to hear a presentation from the Rev. Dr. Kathryn Threadgill on Presbyterian Mission Agency’s Vital Congregations Revitalization Initiative, which is designed to help churches live more faithfully as disciples of Jesus Christ.

From ages and stages ministry to intergenerational faith formation

For the first time ever, representatives from the five “ages and stages” ministry associations that work in Christian formation were in the same room, at the same time, with the same goal: to figure out how they might more collaboratively work together with the Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA).
