An innovation in store during the 227th General Assembly, which will be held online and at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, June 23-July 2, 2026, will be Community Day on Saturday, June 27.
Meeting via Zoom on Thursday, members of the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly continued to discuss details about the next two General Assemblies — GA 227 in 2026 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and GA 228 in 2028 at a site that’s yet to be announced.
While Presbyterian News Service was not present for the three days of Committee on the Office of the General Assembly meetings that concluded on Thursday, the news service did have the next best thing at its disposal: a question-and-answer session via email with Kate Trigger Duffert, Director of General Assembly Planning, one of the OGA staff and others present for COGA’s last in-person meeting ever at Zephyr Point Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center in Zephyr Cove, Nevada.
Meeting Saturday via Zoom, the Unification Commission voted to approve the formation a small task force to work with staff to review its charter “and all polity, process and procedural issues” related to the commission’s upcoming report to the 226th General Assembly next year and make recommendations to the Unification Commission at its next meeting, set for Jan. 18-20, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky.
