‘Conventional ideas of fairness do not account for the original theft’

On Wednesday, employees of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) gathered for a special online worship service to celebrate Native Americans.  Welcomed by the Rev. Irvin Porter, Associate for Native American Intercultural Congregational Support in the office of Racial Equity & Women’s Intercultural Ministries, worshipers participated in a service featuring a mix of English and Native languages.

Gifts to #Give 8/28 help pastor attend Black Theology and Leadership Institute

Last month the Rev. Dr. Elizabeth E. Coleman, pastor of the Northwest Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, Florida, attended the annual Black Theology and Leadership Institute (BTLI) hosted by Princeton Theological Seminary. Coleman’s attendance was possible thanks to a woman’s leadership development grant from the Women’s Leadership Development and Young Women’s Ministries, part of Racial Equity & Women’s Intercultural Ministries (RE&WIM). Funds for the grant were raised through #Give8/28 during the 2020 Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Week of Action.

The excitement could be felt through the screen as nearly 30 women entered the virtual room to gather for the second of the three-part Lydia’s Listening Session hosted by the offices of Women’s Leadership Development and Leadership Development for Leaders of Color of the Racial Equity & Women’s Intercultural Ministries (RE&WIM).

Week of Action.

‘As women that God created, you are prized’

In the first of three listening circles, the offices of Women’s Leadership Development and Leadership Development for Leaders of Color of the Racial Equity & Women’s Intercultural Ministries hosted PC(USA) women of color who are in faith leadership roles to provide them with the safety of a space that honors their voices and their experiences as they voice how COVID-19 has impacted their lives and ministries.

Free books to support at-home faith formation for children are now available for churches and worshiping communities in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Each book listed below will support families and households with younger children at home in forming their faith together at home.
