Louisville Seminary inaugurates its 10th president

“Buckle your seat belts, Louisville Seminary,” the Rev. Dr. J. Herbert Nelson, II, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), told the crowd in a packed Caldwell Chapel during the inauguration of the seminary’s 10th president, the Rev. Dr. Alton B. Pollard III. “A new day is coming to this institution, a new day that has been ordained by God. Praise be to God for what God has in store for this work of ministry and faith.”

The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) voted unanimously today to ask General Assembly 223 (2018) meeting in St. Louis this summer to confirm its election of the Rev. Dr. Diane Moffett to a four-year term as president and executive director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency, one of the six agencies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

Following an expansive national search, the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) today elected the Rev. Dr. Diane Moffett president and executive director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA), one of six agencies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Moffett will assume leadership on June 11, 2018. Her appointment is subject to confirmation by the 223rd General Assembly, which meets in St. Louis, June 16-23, 2018.

LPTS president Michael Jinkins announces retirement

Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (LPTS) president, the Rev. Dr. Michael Jinkins, announced his retirement during the seminary’s spring Board of Trustees meeting, which took place Friday, April 28. Jinkins, who began his term as the seminary’s ninth president September 1, 2010, will formally retire September 2, 2018.
