Near the end of her joyous and Spirit-filled ordination service on Saturday, the now-Rev. Jerusha Van Camp stood in front of the many friends and family gathered at First Presbyterian Church in Evansville, Indiana, and told them, “Your presence surrounds me with love.”

PC(USA)-affiliated camp and retreat center receives grant to launch day camp in Indiana

Pyoca Camp and Retreat Center, located in the Presbytery of Ohio Valley, announced this week that they received a $451,505 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to launch an innovative day camp program for local youth. The program is funded through the Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana initiative, which is aimed at improving the academic, physical and social well-being of young people, ages 5 through 18.

This spring’s tornadoes, which took the steeple off First Presbyterian Church in Martinsville, Indiana, and destroyed 200 homes in and around Sullivan, Indiana, came on top of tornadic destruction in and around Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Rev. Chris Roseland named acting senior director of Mission Engagement and Support

The Rev. Chris Roseland has been named acting senior director of Mission Engagement and Support in the Presbyterian Mission Agency effective June 30. He succeeds the Rev. Rosemary C. Mitchell, who recently announced her retirement after nearly 10 years with the PMA.
