Advocacy committees voice concerns over proposed PMA Board representation

In a letter issued today by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Advocacy Committee for Women’s Concerns (ACWC) and the Advocacy Committee for Racial Ethnic Concerns (ACREC), the groups challenged a recent proposal by the Governance Task Force (GTF) of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) to dramatically reduce the board size and remove formal representation in advocacy groups.

PMAB Governance Task Force reports progress

The Executive Committee of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) will hear a progress report from the Governance Task Force (GTF) at its January 26, 2017, meeting that suggests changes to the size and structure of the board, including the number of corresponding members.

Ghost Ranch operations transfer from PMA to National Ghost Ranch Foundation

As of January 1, 2017, the Ghost Ranch Education & Retreat Center has transferred its operations from the Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to the National Ghost Ranch Foundation (NGRF). The NGRF, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation established in 1972 exclusively to support Ghost Ranch as a ministry of the PC(USA), has been providing financial, operational and volunteer resources for Ghost Ranch.

PMAB Task Force seeks advice on members’ external committee commitments

The Governance Task Force of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is seeking input from agency committee and ministry partners that receive representatives from the PMAB. Citing the current board size, budget limitations and time demands for board members, the Governance Task Force believes the existing deployment model is “not sustainable.”
