LPTS president Michael Jinkins announces retirement

Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (LPTS) president, the Rev. Dr. Michael Jinkins, announced his retirement during the seminary’s spring Board of Trustees meeting, which took place Friday, April 28. Jinkins, who began his term as the seminary’s ninth president September 1, 2010, will formally retire September 2, 2018.

‘Living, Dying, Rising’ conference leadership spotlight: Jeya and Daniel So

The Rev. Rosa Blanca Miranda will join Racial Ethnic & Women’s Ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency on May 17 as the associate for Hispanic/Latino-a Intercultural Congregational Support. For the past several years she has served as pastor of El Buen Pastor Presbyterian Church, a 1001 New Worshiping Community, in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Presbyterians to join thousands for People’s Climate March in Washington

More than 100,000 people are expected to take to the streets of Washington, D.C. on April 29 for the People’s Climate March. Thousands of activists, organizations, schools and churches will call on U.S. and other world leaders to do more to protect the environment. Activists have voiced concerns that many of the White House’s new policies will adversely impact progress that has been made.
