The first and historic Matthew 25 Summit was held Jan. 16–18 at New Life Presbyterian Church in South Fulton, Georgia. This event was the first in-person gathering for people committed to and interested in learning more about the Matthew 25 movement.

“God is not yet finished with the Presbyterians!” said Nick Warnes, director of Cyclical LA, a ministry of the Presbytery of San Fernando in California, and executive director of Cyclical INC. Warnes was describing what it meant for him to meet the milestone of 55 new worshiping communities in the 55-year history of the Presbytery of San Fernando.
The Rev. Zacharie Mboyamba Kabala of Kananga, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), was the keynote speaker at the annual conference of the Congo Mission Network held in March at the Charleston Atlantic Presbytery Conference Center in Charleston, South Carolina. He and a roster of other speakers, both in person and via video, addressed the challenges raised in the conference theme, “Education for Transformation: Equipping Congolese Youth for the Future.”
During the Synod of the Covenant’s recent Equipping Preachers webinar, the Rev. Dr. Cindy Halvorson worked with participants to engage John 2:1–11 — an account of Jesus’ first miracle — through the eyes of the person of their choice as part of the story of Jesus transforming water into wine during the wedding at Cana.
Dr. Colin Evans helped the 70 or so participants attending a recent Presbyterians for Earth Care webinar to connect the dots between the extreme global weather patterns that make headlines and the world’s worsening climate crisis.
