Speaking for the third time this year as part of New York Avenue Presbyterian Church’s McClendon Scholar in Residence Program on Saturday, the Rev. Dr. Brian McLaren shared his thinking on what the world needs most from Christians today.
Building on what he told an online audience on July 9, Dr. Kenyatta Gilbert, Dean of the Howard University School of Divinity and the McClenton Scholar in Residence for the summer at New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., spoke Saturday at the church and online on “Preaching Wisely and Living Justly in Unsettling Times.”
Dr. Kenyatta Gilbert, a nationally-recognized expert on African American preaching and the dean of Howard University School of Divinity, shared his thinking on “Prophetic Preaching in a Tone-Deaf Culture” Tuesday during an online presentation for New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C.
