Washington nonprofit empowers low-income residents, immigrants

Low-income residents and immigrant communities in the Washington, D.C., area are getting help from a local nonprofit that’s supported in part by the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People. ONE DC is working to improve social and economic equity by organizing, training and educating residents in the Shaw neighborhood and the District.

Churches collaborate to offer arts and science literacy camp for low-income children

A four-church collaboration in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, recently gave roughly 200 children an opportunity to learn about arts and science. Tippecanoe, Grace, and North Shore Presbyterian Churches joined with Hephatha Lutheran Church to sponsor Arts and Science Literacy Camp specifically for low- and middle-income families.
