We knelt on the pavement, three long lines of women. One woman at a time led in prayer, acknowledging our need and crying out for God’s intervention in South Sudan.
Just as one country became two with South Sudan’s independence in 2011, Nile Theological College, offering both Arabic and English curriculum tracks, also split into two campuses in two countries the same year.
What has happened in South Sudan in the past two weeks is, in many ways, beyond comprehension. It’s hard for those of us in the United States to wrap our minds around the pain and trauma this young nation has suffered. I want to share the story of two individuals and their families with strong connections to PC(USA) who have been personally affected.
