global partners

Minute for Mission: Mission Worker Sunday

They are advocates. They are interpreters. They are bridge builders. They are peacemakers. Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) mission workers are men and women who have discerned a call from God to serve four or more years alongside our global partners. They dedicate years of their lives to help us understand issues of ministry across boundaries, interpreting language and culture, and sharing God’s love.

Connecting with global partners

One Lord, one faith, one baptism (Eph. 4) — God calls us to join hands with one another, regardless of the continent, country or context in which we live. Solidarity — joining hands with our Iraqi neighbors, for instance — binds us together and sends us out to receive from, depend on and respond to others as Jesus showed us. God is not only about the power and initiative of sending, but also about reciprocity and mutuality. It is in Jesus’ life that we see mutual patterns of our triune God.

Asia and the Pacific consultation celebrates the success of partnership and looks to the future

During Presbyterian World Mission’s recent global partner consultation for Asia and the Pacific in Thailand, more than 50 representatives came together for two days to discuss the effectiveness of current partner relationships, what it means to be partners in God’s mission today, where God is calling us to put our energy and what resources are needed to move forward.

Asia and the Pacific

Presbyterians and mission partners spread God’s love through service

The Asia referred to in the Bible is but a small area, compared with what the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) now refers to as Asia and the Pacific. At the same time, the call to communicate the good news to all has not faded over centuries. The way in which we work with global partners to convey the message of the unconditional love of God now happens in thoughtful and creative ways as well as in a wide variety of contexts.
