Nominations are being sought for the 2018 Women of Faith Awards sponsored by Racial Ethnic & Women’s Ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency. The 2018 theme is ‘Clergywomen who Challenge Racism and Injustice.’ 

2020 Vision Team digs into its first draft

The 2020 Vision Team is trying to work its way through a first draft of its report to the 2018 General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) – hoping to hit the right mix of being short, yet challenging; being grounded in biblical history and also looking forward. For sure, it’s an intricate dance.

Comisión Camino hacia Adelante se enfoca en formar recomendaciones

La Comisión Camino a Seguir (WFC por sus siglas en inglés) de la Iglesia Presbiteriana (EE.UU.) se reunió ayer por la noche (24 de octubre) a través de una conferencia telefónica de tres horas para revisar los avances en las recomendaciones que introducirá en la próxima reunión de la 223ª Asamblea General durante el verano en St. Louis. Aunque todavía está en proceso, y con el aporte necesario de más de media docena de grupos de trabajo, se están desarrollando algunos temas importantes para los grupos de trabajo.

Way Forward Commission focuses attention on forming recommendations

The Way Forward Commission (WFC) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) met last night (Oct. 24) via a 3-hour conference call to review progress on recommendations it plans to make to the 223rd General Assembly meeting next summer in St. Louis.

Hands & Feet initiative launched in St. Louis

The genesis of the Hands & Feet initiative came from Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Stated Clerk, the Rev. Dr. J. Herbert Nelson II, after his experience at the 222nd General Assembly (2016) in Portland. He had never seen so many homeless people in one place.

On its second day of meeting the All Agency Review Committee of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) took up the topic of how certain topics are introduced at the denomination’s General Assembly and the ramifications of decisions made on the work of the agencies, often without input from the agencies.
