With a big assist from the gifts of music leader Mark Miller, closing worship for APCE’s Circle of Faith event in Chicago ended Saturday where it had begun the Wednesday before, with Hebrews 12:1-2.
The Rev. Eugene Peterson, a pastor, author and scholar, died Oct. 22 at his home in Montana. He was 85.
He had been hospitalized since early October because of a serious infection, according to his son, Eric Peterson.
Two handmade containers — one a cradle, the other a casket — were on display Saturday during a memorial service for acclaimed author, scholar and pastor Eugene Peterson.
