The Board of Trustees of Columbia Theological Seminary announces the appointment of Dr. Christine Roy Yoder as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty. Yoder is currently the J. McDowell Richards Professor of Biblical Interpretation at the Decatur, Georgia, seminary.
Dr. Love Sechrest, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Columbia Theological Seminary, announced that Dr. Jake Myers has been elected by the Board of Trustees as the Wade P. Huie Associate Professor of Homiletics. The chair was established in 2004 through the generosity of then-Trustee William S. “Billy” Morris III to honor the legacy of Wade P. Huie, Jr. (’46). Dr. Huie served Columbia as professor of preaching for three decades beginning in 1957.
Dr. Love Sechrest, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Columbia Theological Seminary, has announced the appointment of Dr. Chanequa Walker-Barnes by the seminary’s Board of Trustees as Professor of Practical Theology and Pastoral Counseling.
The John Bulow Campbell Library at Columbia Theological Seminary will be one of the first seminary libraries to host the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History traveling exhibit “Exploring Human Origins: What Does it Mean to be Human?”
