The Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (APCE) honored three longtime educators during its annual conference being held in-person and online from Chicago.
When the Rev. Dr. Susan Sharp Campbell, outgoing president of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (APCE), first started attending the organization’s annual event in 1988, she knew right away that she “fit.”

Gina Yeager-Buckley began the conversation on “Why does the church need youth ministry” with the Presbyterian Youth Workers Association by asking participants to describe what their stories would have been like without it.
Even with the COVID-related risks, delays and uncertainty that have surrounded the annual Association of Presbyterian Church Educators event, co-chair Candace Hill said what excites her the most about next week’s event is being with people who are close to her heart.
For many of the participants at last week’s Shaping Our Story Conference, this was their first in-person gathering since the pandemic began 20 months ago.

“Follow Me: Biblical Practices for Faithful Living,” curriculum that’s meant for the entire congregation and will be rolled out in July, is “a big, bold thing. I’m excited to tell you about it,” Katie Snyder, who’s a certified Christian educator, curriculum specialist and POINT coordinator for the PC(USA) Store, told participants during an Association of Presbyterian Church Educators webinar Thursday.
As cohort groups are being formed by the Office of Christian Formation in partnership with the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators and Presbyterian Youth Workers Association, Christian educator Linda Babcock said her cohort was “a real lifesaver.”
