New mid council moderators and vice-moderators were given a 12-item to-do list as part of a workshop during the Moderators’ Conference last week, along with guidance provided by April Davenport, the PC(USA)’s General Counsel.
Colleagues gathered at the Welcome Center in the Presbyterian Center last week to celebrate the many contributions of Mike Kirk, the PC(USA)’s general counsel, who retired Friday after 15 years serving in the Legal Services Department of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation.
Pending approval from the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board, the Presbyterian Center, the denominational headquarters for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for nearly 33 years, will undergo an estimated $2.4 million renovation this fall and winter to prepare the first story and part of the second to host the 225th General Assembly next year and, presumably, future assemblies as well.
