Nestled on seven acres named Presbyterian Circle, nearly 100 Presbyterians from three presbyteries — Baltimore, National Capital and New Castle — came together on Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Howard County for what was dubbed the Matthew 25 Mid-Atlantic Summit.
Although there has been much talk in recent years about Christian nationalism, especially surrounding the Jan. 6, 2021 attack at the U.S. Capitol Building, it’s far from a new concept, the Rev. Jimmie Hawkins noted during an online conversation on Wednesday.
“We need to talk about voting,” Dr. Rodney S. Sadler Jr. of Union Presbyterian Seminary said to kick off a 90-minute webinar Tuesday titled “Our Voices, Our Votes, Our Freedoms,” “making sure we are putting this front and center of any work we’re doing.”
