All God's creatures ministry

PC(USA) congregation in Iowa lives out Matthew 25 with All God’s Creatures and prisoners

First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, saw a need in its community for an animal shelter and heeded God’s command to care for its neighbor, Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility. It has resulted in a program that engages prisoners at the facility to help train animals cared for by the shelter, All God’s Creatures, and thus make them more adoptable.

PC(USA) congregation and partners work to build a home for all God’s creatures

Henry County, the home of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, lacks an animal shelter — but not for long. Community partners both inside and outside the church are working on what they call “Mission Pawsible,” the campaign to build All God’s Creatures, which when it opens will accommodate about 12 dogs and 50 cats, have medical exam space and quarantine areas, dedicated rooms for training, house a trap-neuter-release program for stray cats and kittens, and more.
