While trying to predict what shape any Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) General Assembly will take, several issues are shaping up to take center stage June 16-23 when the 223rd General Assembly convenes in St. Louis.
The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) ended its pre-General Assembly board meeting here reaffirming, with one amendment, its Governance Task Force’s comments(GTF) to General Assembly 223 (2018) regarding reformation the A Corp proposal from the Way Forward Commission and Office of the General Assembly.
Gathered in Louisville for the first of its two meetings in 2018 prior to General Assembly 223 (2018) in St. Louis, the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) began its time together with reports from members of the executive committee.
The Way Forward Commission is working its way through what’s currently a 46-page draft document with six recommendations to the 2018 General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Following a six-hour closed session Jan. 23, the All Agency Review Committee announced that it had approved a series of recommendations to the 2018 General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) regarding the PC(USA), A Corporation, the corporate entity for the Office of the General Assembly (OGA) and the Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA).
The All Agency Review Committee is spending three days – Jan. 22-24 – with its members sitting in a conference room at the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) national offices in downtown Louisville, figuring out what to include in their report to the 2018 General Assembly.
The All Agency Review Committee heard reports at its meeting today that began to give the group a vision of “the church as a whole” as it was asked to do by the General Assembly 222 (2016) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
Day two of the Denver meeting of the All-Agency Review Committee began with an expression of gratitude by committee Moderator Deborah Block, who asked the group to review the mission directives discussion from yesterday and look toward the work of future meetings.
