Westminster Presbyterian Church serves the nation’s capital with innovative outreach
WASHINGTON — Westminster Presbyterian Church in the southwestern section of the District of Columbia has been serving the community for decades, evolving to address its changing needs.
Outreach to the community includes offering weekly jazz and blues nights, being a source for education and providing tools to address substance use disorders.
One of the first 13 Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregations to help form the More Light network in 1983, Westminster has fought for the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ siblings and the end of discrimination.
As a faith community, Westminster envisions a world where the justice, equity, and love taught by Jesus are lived and enjoyed by everyone. Learn more about this community-serving congregation in the first of two videos highlighting Westminster’s ministries.
