70 Years of Grace in a Beautiful Place
May 26, 2016
In 2016 the Presbytery of Plains and Peaks will celebrate 70 years of outdoor recreational ministry at Highlands Presbyterian Camp and Retreat Center.
Since 1946, campers have enjoyed worshiping God, growing in faith and making lifelong friendships in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. This summer, campers will explore “Fearless Faith, Courage in Community.” In 2016, Highlands will provide hospitality for guests from throughout the United States and many countries in our beautiful Retreat Center. Usage is expected to grow to over 20,000 guest days this year. Our hospitality includes handmade quilts on every bed, and delicious meals in our beautiful dining rooms with a view of Mount Meeker. Highlands is the perfect places to disconnect—there is no cell service—and to reconnect with God!
Highlands is operated in covenant partnership with the Presbytery of Denver. Through its Partnership Day Camp program, Highlands provides teams of young adults working in partnership with congregations to provide day camp programs in 14 local communities. As we look to the future, we look forward to new partnerships, faithful stewardship and creative programming as we continue to be a sanctuary for the spirit, a school for the mind, a joy for the heart and a shelter in the storm.

Let us pray
Gracious God, thank you for those who have gone before us and provided places apart for us to gather, to rest, to worship, to study, to fall more deeply in love with you! May we be good stewards of these precious places and set aside time to enjoy them! Amen.
