Experienced educator and publishing professional has served the Presbyterian Mission Agency since 2007

LOUISVILLE – Mark Hinds, Ed.D., who has been serving as interim publisher for the Presbyterian Mission Agency’s Congregational Ministries Publishing (CMP) since April 2015, has been promoted to the position of publisher effective immediately.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, June 22, by the Rev. Dr. Charles B. “Chip” Hardwick, director of Theology, Formation, and Evangelism (TFE), at the General Assembly breakfast co-sponsored by Congregational Ministries Publishing (CMP) and the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation (PPC).
“Mark has done a terrific job guiding the CMP staff through the introduction and rollout of Growing in Grace & Gratitude, through the development of a budget, through staff departures and arrivals, and through the challenges that face all publishing organizations these days,” said Hardwick. “I have great confidence in his leadership, and look forward to seeing where that leadership will take CMP in the months and years to come.”
A ruling elder at the Springdale Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Hinds earned the Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees from Trinity University, the M.Div. from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and the Ed.D. from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education, now Union Presbyterian Seminary. He joined CMP as general editor in 2007, becoming its associate publisher in 2014 prior to being named publisher this month.
Hinds is married to the Rev. Dr. Peggy Hinds, an ordained teaching elder and certified Christian educator in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), who serves as interim executive director for the Kentucky Council of Churches.
