Seeking Home, Claiming Faith, Building Community
June 20, 2016
Prayers of lament went out from the Presbytery of Whitewater Valley at the horrors of the Syrian refugee crisis. Our arms of care have reached out to such travelers before, those who make their way on the interstate highways that cross our presbytery, seeking a home, claiming faith and tenaciously building community.
Let us join in prayer for:
Presbytery staff
Rev. T. Alan Thames, Executive Presbyter
Kristy Quinn, Executive Administrator/Stated Clerk
Craig Shaw, Technology Coordinator
Peggy McDonald, Mission Connector
Rev. Mike Srbljan, Finance Manager
Eric Herzog, Finance Consultant
PC(USA) Agencies’ Staff
Donald Walker, BOP
Judy Walton, PILP
Let us pray
God of hope and love, forgive us when we are afraid of the stranger’s knock. Replace our fear with your love. Work through us as we seek to provide for refugees. Bless Exodus Refugee Resettlement and Catholic Charities, who strive to make Indiana a welcoming state. We listen for your knock, cry with your weary children, bake bread to ease your hunger, Emmanuel. Amen.
