LOUISVILLE – The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) Coordinating Committee (formerly the Executive Committee) today appointed three members of PMA leadership to temporarily manage the agency until a permanent executive director is in place.

Rhashell Hunter, director of Racial Ethnic & Women’s Ministries; Barry Creech, director of policy, administration and board support, and Jose Luis Casal, director of World Mission, will work together, sharing the duties of the executive director from April 28–July 15. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation, is expected to vote tomorrow giving the three the necessary corporate authority.

The PMAB’s Executive Director Search Committee expects to name a permanent executive director in May, in time for the 223rd General Assembly, June 16–23, in St. Louis.

“Based on their collective knowledge and experience, the Mission Agency will be in capable hands with Rhashell, Barry and Jose Luis,” said Presbyterian Mission Agency Board Chair Ken Godshall. “Meanwhile, with more than 200 applicants and an expedited search process, we expect an announcement soon regarding a permanent executive director.”

The current acting director of the PMA, David Crittenden, resigned earlier this month due to health concerns. Crittenden was named to the position in the fall of 2017.
