LOUISVILLE – Keeping Faith, the video newsletter from Tony De La Rosa, Interim Executive Director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency, is now available for viewing.

In this February edition, De La Rosa highlights Presbyterian World Mission (PWM), which celebrates 180 years of life-changing work this year. In “Mission 180,” PMW acting co-directors Rachel Yates and Tamron Keith describe the significance of a 180 degree look at mission—representing a turnaround from PWM’s more colonial approach when it was founded, to one of partnership today.

De La Rosa also highlighted the ways in which “forward thinking Presbyterian women” paved the way for the founding of Presbyterian World Mission. Presbyterian women’s groups were the first to establish structures that supported missionaries in the field domestically, as well as internationally. Presbyterian Women put a missionary in the domestic field for the first time in 1824.

In the final segment of the February edition, Keeping Faith takes a trip to the DREAAM House in Champaign, Illinois, that is making educational dreams come true for African American boys who live in at-risk environments.

This community school partnership is receiving significant funding and support from First Presbyterian Church of Champaign and the Presbytery of Southeastern Illinois. It is one example of what is being created through the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Educate a Child national initiative.
