The free magazine will focus on interfaith dialogue and religious solidarity

LOUISVILLE — Next month, World Mission global partner Confronti Magazine and Study Center in Rome will launch an English-language version of its magazine called ConfrontiWorld. Confronti in Italian means “dialogue,” and ConfrontiWorld is “the world through the dialogue.”
“ConfrontiWorld will be an important educational tool for Presbyterians to learn about a variety of issues ranging from the life of reformed minority churches in Southern Europe, migration and refugees, interfaith dialogue and inter-religious solidarity in the Mediterranean and important geopolitical matters in the area that lies at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe,” said Luciano Kovacs, World Mission’s coordinator for the Middle East and Europe. “It will also give the opportunity to Presbyterians to be part of a larger communication network that will focus on issues that are important to justice-seeking Americans, whether it is U.S. military aid and intervention, resistance to war and militarization, peacemaking and human rights.”

The bi-weekly publication will have a committee of advisors, experts and partners from around the world that will look at the work of international faith communities, academics and news stories in local contexts.
ConfrontiWorld’s editorial content will primarily focus on two areas. The first will be the dynamics of geo-politics and religion viewed through the lens of the Mediterranean Sea. And the second will be an in-depth look at the lives of minority communities in Europe, Italy and the Mediterranean Sea — particularly the spiritual, cultural and ecclesiastical view from the Methodist-Waldensian Church in Italy and the links with the other Protestant churches in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and beyond.
The publication’s goal is to provide not only facts and data, but also analysis. There will also be audio, video and podcasts affiliated with the magazine, which will feature the best international stories from around the world. There will be a dedicated Facebook page, Instagram profile and Twitter feed.
Claudio Paravati, director of Confronti, said, “This will be an opportunity for readers to stay informed about what is happening around the world and to be in connection with a larger community aiming to build a solid society open to dialogue, encounters and diversity.”
