The Reimaging America Project, a grassroots effort of clergy, activists, and local leaders in and around Charlotte, North Carolina who are working to reduce the unjust impacts race has on the systems of our society, was the subject of an illuminating webinar offered last week by Union Presbyterian Seminary and two of its institutions, the Center for Social Justice and Reconciliation and the Katie Geneva Center for Womanist Leadership.

On Tuesday, Columbia University’s Dr. Obery M. Hendricks, Jr. , one of the nation’s foremost commentators on religion and the political economy, warned an online crowd the nation is “at such a dangerous point” that “if we don’t push back against those who weaponize the Bible very soon, they might just get the upper hand, and we and our descendants will suffer.”

The Rev. Dr. Beth McCaw named Dean of University of Dubuque Theological Seminary

After a national search, the University of Dubuque has named Rev. Dr. Beth McCaw, who currently serves as associate professor of ministry at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, as dean of the seminary and vice president of the university. The appointment will begin on Jan. 1, 2024.
