Presbyterian advocacy committees pen open letter to Way Forward Commission

The Advocacy Committee for Women’s Concerns (ACWC) and the Advocacy Committee for Racial Ethnic Concerns (ACREC) issued an open letter to the Way Forward Commission today expressing “profound concern” of proposed actions that may segregate “the material voice and vote of the advocacy committees.”

Way Forward plans to vote on recommendations this week

On Feb. 15, the Way Forward Commission is expected to formally vote to approve its recommendations to the 2018 General Assembly — sprinting to meet a Feb. 16 deadline for submitting those recommendations to the Office of the General Assembly.

PMA Board affirms per capita increases, hears committee reports

The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) concluded its February meeting here today approving a recommended an increase in per capita funding to be considered by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) General Assembly 223 (2018) this summer in St. Louis.

The much-anticipated report from the Governance Task Force (GTF) of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) came up for discussion and debate during today’s open plenary of the group’s February meeting.

New Presbyterian network seeks Korean reconciliation

Concerned Presbyterians have started a new network to contribute to current efforts to reconcile all sides of the Korean conflict through peaceful efforts. The Presbyterian Peace Network for Korea, related to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), was launched in October 2017 by a group of Presbyterians with a passion for seeking peaceful reconciliation in the Korean peninsula.

PMA Board begins first meeting of 2018
