Min-Hee Kim was one of 12 young women sponsored by the Racial Ethnic & Women’s Ministries Young Women’s Leadership program who participated in the United Nations’ 61st CSW. Each year the ministry provides scholarships to young Presbyterian women from around the world to attend the event. 
The Executive Committee (EC) of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) met today to consider the future composition of and nominations for the next class of the Executive Committee. 
The Rev. Huong Dang, best known as “Cedar,” was installed this past Sunday as pastor of the Vietnamese Presbyterian Church (VPC) in Garden Grove, California. She is the first woman to be installed as senior minister of a Vietnamese-language congregation in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) 
If you go to a church that follows the Revised Common Lectionary, you may have heard (or preached) a sermon last Sunday based upon the story of Mary, Martha and their brother Lazarus (John 11:1-44). Jesus’ raising of Lazarus from the dead is the last of John’s seven narrated “signs” of Jesus, all of which point to his identity as Messiah and lead people to believe in him. 
While violence and fear continue to pervade war-torn Syria, Presbyterians across the United States are helping those displaced by the conflict rebuild their lives. Thanks to previous gifts given to One Great Hour of Sharing, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has been able to respond quickly to the refugee crisis. 
U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent decision to revive the coal industry and closely scrutinize the previous administration’s Clean Power Act is being met with strong opposition among leaders in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). While the president promises the action will create jobs, many say the executive order, signed last week, will set the country back years in environmental progress. 
A recent research release from the Barna Group suggests parents and youth ministry leaders have differing views on the goals of youth ministry. The report, “Pastors and Parents Differ on Youth Ministry Goals” is derived from the comprehensive “State of Youth Ministry” study released last November in cooperation with youth ministry resource organizations Youth Specialties and YouthWorks. 
Presbyterian World Mission is celebrating the life and mourning the death of the Rev. Dr. Mulumba Musumba Mukundi, general secretary of the Presbyterian Church of Congo (CPC) and Rector of the Sheppards & Lapsley Presbyterian University of Congo. Born in February 1945, he passed away on the morning of March 29. 
The invitations have been extended and this fall, 16 individuals will visit Presbyterian churches, mid-councils and other institutions as part of the International Peacemakers initiative.
