Presbyterians begin 260-mile walk to the 223rd General Assembly in St. Louis

With gray and overcast skies above them, a group of 25 to 30 people gathered at the Presbyterian Center in Louisville on Friday morning to begin a two-week trek to St. Louis on foot. The PC(USA) Walk for a Fossil Free World is a joint project of both the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship and Fossil Free PCUSA to stand against investment in the fossil fuel industry. Read more »

Nuevos estudios de Harvard: miles de personas murieron en Puerto Rico tras el huracán María

New Harvard study: thousands died in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria

A new study from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health estimates the death toll during and after Hurricane Maria may be closer to 4,600 or more. The study, published this week in the New England Journal of Medicine, suggests access to medical care and basic needs may have been contributing factors. Read more »

It happens quickly, often in a single generation. Yours is the big church on the town square, the church that your family has attended for generations. Once, this church was the spiritual heart of the community. This is where people supported one another in times of crisis, remembered their roots and celebrated their joys. Once there were jobs in the town, but today young people leave to study and work in the big city. Now, on a good Sunday, 25 or 30 people gather for worship; your church struggles to survive. Los fieles se reunieron en la capilla del centro presbiteriano el miércoles para celebrar un evento generacional; la revisión del Libro para la Adoración (BCW por sus siglas en ingles) de la IP (EE.UU.).
