The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is one of 24 churches and faith-based organizations to have signed on to a letter calling on the administration of President Joe Biden to lift the sanctions on Cuba, saying they prevent humanitarian aid from reaching people on the island. 
A nongovernment organization that has been instrumental in helping people in India to overcome natural and human-caused disasters was featured this week in a webinar by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. 
On August 4, the people of Lebanon observed a National Day of Mourning to mark the anniversary of the port explosion in Beirut that has been called the biggest non-nuclear explosion ever recorded, killing more than 200 people, injuring 7,000 and causing an estimated $4.6 billion in damage.

On Thursday morning, The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Office of Public Witness (OPW) on Capitol Hill hosted members of the Texas Legislature who left the state last month to block passage of restrictive voting laws.

Of course, we didn’t call it that. In some instances, we called it a miracle. Consider this: What was, for you, the miracle of the Feeding of the 5,000? Was it that Jesus single-handedly fed 5,000 people with two fish and five loaves? Or was the miracle that the message of Jesus inspired an unexpected outpouring of generosity, the likes of which no one had ever seen? A level of generosity that was miraculous?
