Two Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregations — First Presbyterian Church of Fargo, North Dakota, and First Presbyterian Church of Taos, New Mexico — have been awarded matching grants from the National Fund for Sacred Places, a program of Partners for Sacred Places in collaboration with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. 
The Rev. David George, pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Sulphur, Oklahoma, arrived at the church Saturday morning, October 12, as firefighters were extinguishing the last of the flames from a fire that had engulfed the church. 
Colleagues gathered at the Welcome Center in the Presbyterian Center last week to celebrate the many contributions of Mike Kirk, the PC(USA)’s general counsel, who retired Friday after 15 years serving in the Legal Services Department of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation. 
A prominent leader in the PC(USA) was well celebrated with a mix of laughter, tears, hearty applause and a fiesta like no other as Mission Presbytery gathered for its Oct. 18-19 stated meeting, where it officially sent general presbyter, the Rev. Dr. Sallie Sampsell Watson, forth into retirement. 
As a result of action taken by the 226th General Assembly, the Task Force to Explore the Theology and Practice of Ordination now has more members and new tools to help it complete its work ahead of the 227th General Assembly (2026). 
It turns out the Rev. Bethany Peerbolte, known to many as the “TikTok Pastor,” can communicate via longform media as well. 
As a rush of fresh-faced students filed into the Presbyterian Pan American School’s Harte Student Center, Dr. Joey King beamed with pride.
And rightfully so.
The new president of the small, PC(USA)-related college-preparatory school located in the Texas Coastal Bend some 90 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, has exciting plans to flourish PPAS’s most valuable resource, its students. 
With a sermon infused with self-deprecating humor about her age, the Rev. Dr. Amantha Barbee encouraged attendees of the “Jesus & Justice” Young Adult Advocacy Conference to realize the power within them and to never let anyone look down on them because of their youth. 
With an inspiring sermon and a rousing rendition of “We are Marching in the Light of God” — sung in English and Swahili —the Young Adult Advocacy Conference (YAAC) kicked into high gear Friday on its opening day in North Carolina.
