New Jersey church closes volunteer village for Hurricane Sandy relief

Members of Morning Star Presbyterian Church in Bayville, New Jersey recently gathered to officially close their Volunteer Village for Hurricane Sandy relief workers. (Photo courtesy of Morning Star Presbyterian Church) In the nearly four years since Hurricane Sandy struck the United States, volunteer work teams from across the country have traveled to the hard hit regions, particularly New Jersey and New York, to help people recover and return to their homes. Record flooding in Louisiana leaves thousands homeless

(Photo courtesy the Presbytery of South Louisiana) Record flooding over the weekend in parts of Louisiana has left thousands homeless and as many as a half dozen people dead. The Presbytery of South Louisiana says the heavy rains with as much as six to 10 inches, took everyone by surprise. Read more »
