Learn, share struggles and what works, connect with people and resources, and be inspired to build just, resilient and sustainable food economies.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: left;margin: 6px\" src=\"\/media\/uploads\/blogs\/food_and_faith\/images\/laura-profile-pick.jpg\" alt=\"head shot of Laura Henderson\" width=\"160\" height=\"200\" \/>Laura Henderson, Executive Director of Growing Places<\/strong><br \/>\nIn addition to founding Growing Places Indy, Laura loves her role creating and evolving the Summer Apprenticeship Program to encompass a multi-dimensional focus on urban agriculture, food systems, wellness and sustainability. Laura also founded the Indy Winter Farmers Market in 2008, is a registered yoga instructor, and teaches multiple classes each week at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.invokestudio.com\">Invoke Studio<\/a>. Laura is a consultant to Eskenazi Health on the development of a roof top farm to open in 2014. She serves on the Butler University Center for Urban Ecology Advisory Committee, the Indy Food Fund Committee, and has consulted numerable urban agriculture, food and sustainability related organizations, projects, and events. <strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 6px;float: left\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/jeremy.jpg\" alt=\"head shot of Jeremy John\" width=\"160\" height=\"160\" \/>Jeremy John<\/strong>, <strong>Quixote Center<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Jeremy has been an activist ever since he accidentally ate the red pill instead of the more harmless blue one. In 2003, Jeremy spent <a href=\"http:\/\/glassdimly.com\/prison\">six months in prison<\/a> working to close the <a href=\"http:\/\/soaw.org\/\">School of the Americas<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/glassdimly.com\/blog\/god\/testimony-conversion-prison\">converting to Christianity<\/a> while he was imprisoned. He currently coordinates the <a href=\"http:\/\/quixote.org\/programs\/the-crabgrass-christians-initiative\">Crabgrass Christians Initiative<\/a> at the Quixote Center, building grassroots alternative food economies in faith institutions that embody the beloved community. He was a participant in <a href=\"http:\/\/occupychurchdc.org\/\">Occupy DC&#8217;s lay chaplaincy<\/a>. He maintains a personal blog at <a href=\"http:\/\/glassdimly.com\/\">glassdimly.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 6px;float: left\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/laura2.jpg\" alt=\"head shot of Laura Collins\" width=\"160\" height=\"160\" \/>Laura Collins, <\/strong><strong>Healthy Food for All Program Coordinator, CAIN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Laura coordinates nutrition programming at Churches Active in Northside (CAIN), planning events and classes, training volunteers in the garden, coordinating fresh produce pickups at the Freestore Foodbank and other donation sources, and grantseeking and program writing for healthy food initiatives at CAIN and in Northside.
