\nTricia Fischer and Carol Frame Matthews are members of Covenant Community Church’s<\/a> <\/span><\/em>Just Food and Faith<\/span> intentional community. Tricia was interviewed by PC(USA)’s Emily Odom and here are a couple excerpts from the Presbyterian News Service article<\/a>.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Tricia Fischer is no stranger to the global
\nmarketplace.\u00a0 As a supervisor for the United Parcel Service with
\nresponsibility for its international gateways, she thinks and acts
\nglobally every day.<\/p>\n

Thus already
\nmore attuned than most to the world\u2019s intimately interconnected nature,
\nFischer turned both a personal and an advocate\u2019s eye to world hunger
\nissues, questioning how her own actions involving food were affecting
\nher neighbors, locally and globally.<\/p>\n

Tricia, who is participating in the church-wide fast<\/a> on the global food crisis, also talked about one of the insights gained.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

“One of the critical things the group helped me to identify was the
\nnature of human desire,” she said.\u00a0 “Just because so many of us can
\nhave what we want doesn\u2019t mean that we should have it.\u00a0 Having what we
\nwant isn\u2019t necessarily what\u2019s best for the world.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
