\"September\"<\/a> As we have learned over the past 12 months, agribusiness and
\nmodern, industrial farming is destroying the ecological integrity of this
\nbeautiful planet, and so many people are being exploited along the food supply
\nchain! \u00a0God\u2019s Creation is groaning under the strain of fossil fueled
\nagriculture with its pesticide poisoning, chemical fertilizers, unjust labor
\npractices, and the carbon and methane pollution heating the atmosphere.<\/p>\n

FROM FOOD CRISIS TO FOOD JUSTICE!\u00a0 <\/strong>The September Global Food Crisis fast curriculum<\/a> is
\nabout communities near and far that are rebuilding food self-reliance,
\nsustainability, security and democratic control over the food supply. The fast
\ngoes from September 4-6 but the materials can be used anytime.<\/p>\n

\nU.S. and in Africa. And learn what food sovereignty is about and why people
\nfrom around the world are calling for such a transformation of the food system.<\/p>\n

As you read the materials for September and join in the
\nfast, please take time to contemplate about how you and your congregation might
\nhelp address the food crisis. Feel free to review the monthly Responses sections
\nof the fasts and refer to the \u201c52 ways toward a just and joy filled food
\nsystem<\/a>\u201d.
\nEven if it is something small\u2026plan next steps, recruit others to help or
\nsupport your initiative. And send us your ideas for yourself, your church
\nand\/or the denomination.<\/p>\n
