<\/a>On our trip through the Midwest we visited
\nmany Community Gardens and Urban \u201cFarms\u201d. (quotations mine) About
\nhalfway through the trip I became very frustrated that we weren\u2019t seeing
\n any of what I would label \u201creal farms\u201d. I wrote in my journal
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI am so lonely for farm country. Who would have thought that an
\nagrarian road trip would include so many cities. Will we talk to real
\nfarmers and get their perspective on how it came to this? Will we meet
\nthose who have successfully beat the storm? We will need farms and
\nfarmers growing ethically to fully feed our population. Urban gardening
\nwill not be able to do it all.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I want to make it  clear that I fully support the Urban
\nGardening\/Farming movement. Growing our own food is an empowerment that
\n folks need to prevent us from continuing to blindly follow industrial
\nfood production to a path that may ultimately see fit to fill our plates
\n with \u201cSoylent
