The 2020 Food Week of Action is coming soon \u2013 and you are invited to be a co-sponsor as about six of you did last year. Co-sponsoring just means that you will add your congregation\u2019s name to the cosponsors list and highlight the anti-hunger and pro-justice work you and others are doing during October \u2013 and especially during Food Week from Oct. 11-18.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Food Week of Action \u2013\u00a0Hopeful Harvest \u2013\u00a0<\/em>is more important than ever! Famine and food crises threaten people around the globe. Yet, at the same time, the climate crisis and pandemic have helped us feel our interdependence and realize how essential farmers and food workers are to our survival. Plan on participating!

World Food Day<\/strong> (Oct. 16) is why we choose these dates for Food Week each year and<\/strong> on that day we will announce the new Hunger Action Congregations. The GND is a legislative platform that has potential to revamp our economy and energy systems in ways that create living wage jobs as people transition from the fossil fuel economy to a more green and just economy.
