Farmworker advocates, Immokalee, Florida. From the New York Times Magazine
And speaking of food (weren’t you?), the
Campaign for Fair Food is picking up steam. The success of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) in working out an agreement with Whole Foods was commended by the Stated Clerk of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
More recently, CIW members and
Interfaith Action recently concluded the two-week Chipotle Mini-tour, from
Immokalee to Chipotle’s headquarters in Denver and back again with educational
events and Chipotle actions in many cities along the way. Allies from
Denver joined us for a 30-hour vigil outside Chipotle’s headquarters to make it
clear to the sustainable food leader that any real solution to end farmworker
povery and abuses must include farmworker participation. See pictures of the action, an inspiring candlelight prayer service and an overview of the tour

Write to Chipotle and Subway
We
encourage you to write letters to the executives of Chipotle, Subway
and Whole Foods, urging them to work with the CIW now. To get
