This online workshop will cover concepts of community organizing, movement building, and public policy/corporate policy advocacy as vital models for tackling root causes of poverty. We will have a speaker from a local Congregation Based Community Organization (CBCO) on community organizing, someone from the Office of Public Witness to address policy advocacy, and we hope someone from Poor People’s Campaign or another strong movement to talk about how to build people’s power and movements. We hope to also have someone from a presbytery that’s used elements of these models “in real life”/”on the gound” to participate.
