SUMMARY:Racial Justice & Civil Rights Travel Study Seminar
DESCRIPTION:This event is a Racial Justice Pilgrimage\, sponsored in partnership by the Peacemaking Program and the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley. From Tuesday May 28 – Thursday June 6\, participants will visit important sites (Alabama\, Mississippi\, Tennessee) and hear from speakers regarding the civil rights movement. Goals include: \n• learn about the events and people of the civil rights movement.\n• visit significant sites and museums that tell the story of the civil rights movement in US history and today.\n• engage with local leaders and Presbyterians who continue the legacy of the civil rights movement today and engage in racial justice and anti-racism work.\n• create a plan to share learnings and impact the racial justice and anti-racism work of their presbyteries and congregations.
