SUMMARY:Food Week of Action
DESCRIPTION:Food Week of Action is happening Oct. 13-20 to coincide with World Food Day (Oct. 16) and congregations and civil society organizations participate by co-sponsoring Food Week and announcing/promoting the events or actions they are doing during October around hunger\, food justice and food sovereignty\, and environmental justice. Many congregations co-sponsor Food Week and their events have started to trickle in. The webpage is at www.pcusa.org/foodweek \nThis year we’re especially excited about the Food Sovereignty Prize\, which is going to Little Village Environmental Justice Organization and the Zapatistas. See https://climatejusticealliance.org/workgroup/food-sovereignty/ \nAnd this year\, the US Food Sovereignty Alliance is co-hosting it with the Climate Justice Alliance\, a former grantee partner and a group that we work with regularly on climate and food justice campaigns and initiatives. We are gathering from Oct. 13-16 in Chicago for the ceremony and to spend a couple days doing agricultural exchange\, political education and building relationships with folks doing food sovereignty work around the country
